Concept Art

There are a few works of art from FéLorën that have found their way into my possession, in various states of degradation. Ample time has been spent in the restoration process, some, as you will see, benefiting more than others. There is an ongoing debate as to the accuracy of the people, places, and scenarios represented in these works.

Scientific analysis of the portraits, for example, shows that the names were added close to 100 years after the sketches themselves. What is indeed a fact is that they are products of FéLorën and in this regard, the only existing record of what may have been. Until additional records are discovered, this is the only visual representation available.

The eye

The all-seeing, all-knowing eye. The symbol of clear perception, consciousness awareness of itself. The very image that was carved into the original Book of FéLorën. It had been repurposed many times and over the years became a symbol for prophets and Wizardborn, alike. Note that this particular work includes the phrase “Pir Luren.” A phrase meaning “pure land.” One of many interpretations and statements that was introduced in the latter years of FéLorën’s history. We know these words were transcribed on this art piece during Daylen’s lifetime. It was a popular statement until Daylen famously expressed his dislike for the phrase. Daylen argued “pure” was not an accurate description of the symbol’s meaning. From a passage of Modern Histories of FéLorën volume 1, Daylen explains that purity, by definition, is void of the impure. Purity is only possible because impurity exists. As such, exclusion of impurity is an incomplete awareness of our conscious experience and therefore an incomplete portrayal of FéLorën. This is why the phrase “Pir Luren” stopped appearing on FéLorën inspired art shortly before Daylen’s passing.

Troll

This was a unique find if only because during the age of Daylen trolls were all but extinct. It is a rare glimpse into the creatures that roamed upon the world of FéLorën when it was known as Heldon.

Bounty Hunter

This work was believed to have been created during Daylen’s lifetime, as evident with the “Pir Luren” statement inscribed upon it. However, analysis shows the art, itself, predates the inscription. The evidence shows this was created long before Daylen was born, during the age of Heldon, close to the beginning of The Final War.

Rose

Portrait of the assassin, Rose. A world-renowned criminal who lived in infamy during the age of Heldon. There was hardly a children’s bedtime story or bard’s tale that did not mention his name.

Wizard

Nameless wizard. Many have speculated it is Erramond the Wise, himself. If true, it is the only known image we have to date
